5 Songs That Can Give Me The Shivers: Modern Pop Edition

I drive my kids around a lot. It’s something parents do, along with providing 24 hour food service and having to be a bathroom attendant willing to wipe someone else’s butt with a smile on your face.

When we’re in the car I can subject my children to “Daddy’s music”. And sometimes I do. But given the day, the situation and everyone’s mood it’s often easier to just put on the Pop station and concentrate on the road.

So yeah. I end up listening to a lot of music I don’t really like. Most of it I can forgive, especially if it makes my kids happy. But some it, some of it can pierce through Dad’s armor of defiance. And a few choice songs can even give me that whole body wave of emotion I’ve come to recognize as a sign of something special.

So here are 5 Pop songs I’ve been forced to listen to while driving my kids around. They’re songs that I not only like, but have come to love. And to all 5 artists allow Dad to say, “Well done, and thank you.”
